More Information about the next session of the SATC will be available in May 2025.

After almost twenty years (!) of offering programming exclusively during the school year, we launched our first-ever summer program, the Summer Activist Training Camp!

We remain deeply concerned about the impacts of racist voter suppression tactics, trans youth whose right to healthcare is being denied, people whose right to reproductive healthcare is being rolled back, young folks who are being denied an adequate sexual education, and students who are being prevented from learning an accurate history of racism and sexism in the U.S. We designed the SATC to put useful information and skills in the hands of student activists.

During SATC high school, students participate in six weeks of online programming, including skills workshops, issue briefings, and team meetings. Participants worked in small groups to design and implement an advocacy project to impact policy at the local or state level.  Skills workshops included topics such as hosting voter registration drives, journalistic writing, organizing, advocacy, and public speaking.  Subject area experts gave weekly briefings on issues like voting rights, reproductive rights, inclusive sexual education, and anti-racist education.
