Ashley Steimer-King graduated with an M.A. degree in Cultural Anthropology from Roehampton University in London, completing her thesis on gender-based violence and grassroots feminist protest. She previously worked with several NGOs in their United Nations offices, training middle and high school girls on international human rights learning and advocacy. Steimer-King is responsible for the overall management of GLI. 

Pets: Gracie (Dog)

Favorite Things to Do Outside of GLI: Eating popcorn, playing board games with my family, and walking to get a coffee

Random Fact: I once walked the entirety of Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, which is 14.29 miles!

Ileana McDonald graduated from Whittier College, with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Gender Studies. Her academic journey and senior thesis focused on civic engagement in marginalized communities. With experience in political campaigns and deep connection to youth advocacy, Ileana serves as the primary contact for students, parents, and advisors, providing support to Chapters nationwide. She also designs and runs the Summer Activist Training Camp (SATC).

Favorite Things to Do Outside of GLI: Going to the gym, playing guitar, and walking my cat around my apartment building
